Replacing a boiler should give you more than a new appliance on the wall. It should leave you with dependable heating, hot water suited to your household and controls that make sense.

PEP installs and replaces boilers across Ealing and West Ealing, including Ealing Broadway, Northfields, Pitshanger, Ealing Common and South Ealing. We work with Vaillant and Viessmann, combining the right equipment with system preparation, careful installation and documented commissioning.

Whether you need a straightforward replacement or a heating upgrade alongside a renovation, we establish what your home needs, what can remain and what the installation should include.

Vaillant and Viessmann boiler installation in Ealing

PEP is a Vaillant Advance Installer and a Viessmann Trained Installer. We specify current domestic boiler ranges around the property, its heating system and the way your household uses hot water.

Vaillant

Up to10years

Vaillant: up to 10 years’ manufacturer cover

Qualifying Vaillant installations can include up to 10 years’ manufacturer cover. Eligibility depends on the selected boiler and the required installation package, including the applicable protection kit and Advance registration.

See Vaillant’s qualifying boiler and cover information.

Up to12years

Viessmann: up to 12 years’ manufacturer cover

Selected Viessmann boilers can qualify for up to 12 years’ manufacturer cover when the model, installer registration and installation meet the applicable terms. This is not a blanket promise for every Vitodens model.

See Viessmann’s product warranty information.

Your PEP quotation identifies the exact boiler and cover included. Where we specify an extended warranty package, its cost is included in our installation price, without a separate warranty surcharge.

Manufacturer conditions, including required servicing, still apply. Annual servicing is not automatically included in the installation price, and boiler cover does not extend to every existing pipe, radiator or valve in your home.

The right scope, from the start

A straightforward replacement or a change to the whole system?

If your existing heating and hot-water arrangement works well but the boiler has become unreliable, a carefully planned replacement may be all that is needed. A suitable location and serviceable existing components can help limit disruption.

A kitchen extension, loft conversion or additional bathroom changes the conversation. We consider the finished layout, hot-water demand, pipework and controls before deciding what should be installed.

It is also important to separate a boiler fault from a wider system problem. Poor circulation, leaking pipework or unsuitable controls will not necessarily be resolved by fitting a new appliance. If pressure keeps dropping, our guide to a boiler losing pressure explains why the cause needs investigating.

Plan for the completed home

Planning another bathroom, an extension or underfloor heating?

Tell us about the next stage of your home before the boiler is ordered. An additional bathroom affects hot-water demand; an extension changes the heated area; underfloor heating introduces its own temperature and control requirements. None of these automatically calls for a larger boiler.

We consider the completed layout, insulation, heat emitters and expected use. Minimum boiler output also matters when only a small heating zone is calling for heat.

For mixed radiator and floor-heating systems, our underfloor heating service can be coordinated with the boiler installation. Our plumbing installation service in Ealing helps bring the wider work together before floors are closed or a new kitchen is finished.

Heating and hot water, considered together

Combi, system or regular boiler: which suits your home?

There are two separate questions: how much heat the building needs, and how your household needs hot water to be delivered.

System boiler & stored hot waterChoose the arrangement around actual demand.

System boilers and stored hot water

A system boiler works with a separate hot-water cylinder. This can suit households with greater simultaneous demand, provided the incoming water supply, storage capacity and controls are appropriate.

We consider usable cylinder capacity, recovery, available space and the way bathrooms are used — not simply the number of bedrooms.

Combi boilers

A combi heats domestic hot water on demand, without a separate hot-water cylinder. It can be a good use of space where demand is modest and the incoming mains supply is suitable.

A higher boiler output cannot create more incoming water. Before recommending a combi, we assess flow, pressure and likely simultaneous use. Adding a second shower does not automatically mean that a larger combi is the right answer.

Our conventional-to-combi conversion guide explains the wider changes involved.

Regular boilers and existing cylinders

A regular boiler may remain a sensible choice where the existing cylinder arrangement is suitable. Conversion is an option, not an obligation.

If a different hot-water arrangement is being considered, our vented-to-unvented conversion guide sets out the main considerations.

Sound connections. Considered upgrades.

What can stay — and what needs changing?

Pipework & system protectionKeep what works. Improve what needs attention.

A new boiler does not automatically mean replacing every radiator. Existing pipework, valves and cylinders can remain where they are sound and suitable for the proposed arrangement.

When changing from an open-vented heating circuit to a sealed system, the condition of the retained installation needs particular attention. Existing weaknesses should be identified rather than left for the new operating conditions to expose.

We assess circulation problems, valve faults, leaks and pipework limitations before deciding the scope. For a larger upgrade, our central heating and plant-room service looks at the complete system.

Position, routes and service access

Boiler relocation: agree the position before the room is finished

Moving a boiler can free up kitchen space or bring equipment into a utility room. A position that works on a drawing, however, is not necessarily a practical installation location.

We check the flue route, gas supply, condensate drainage, heating and hot-water connections, electrical supply and controls. Clearances must allow both installation and future servicing.

A cupboard should provide access to the appliance and its connections, not just close neatly around them. In flats, freeholder or managing-agent permissions may also need to be resolved. Listed buildings and conservation-area restrictions require address-specific checks, especially where an external flue is proposed.

Planning Portal’s boiler and heating guidance explains why permissions depend on the building and the work.

Assess. Clean. Protect.

System cleaning and protection included in the replacement

Powerflushing machine connected to a heating circuit through two radiator valve connections
Heating circuit preparationPrepare what stays. Protect what is new.

The condition of the retained heating circuit matters to the new boiler. Contamination should be considered as part of the installation, not as an afterthought.

Our boiler replacement package includes a full-system PowerFlush, subject to assessment of the circuit and the suitability of the cleaning method. The aim is to address contamination in the retained system before the replacement boiler is put into service.

Older, fragile or leaking pipework may need repairs or a different cleaning approach. We agree that scope after assessment, alongside the filtration and water-treatment requirements of the selected equipment.

Cleaning will not repair a faulty valve, correct undersized pipework or resolve every circulation problem. Read more about our powerflushing service in Ealing.

Compatible equipment. Considered settings.

Choose the boiler and controls together

Controls that suit the installationA connected system, not just a connected thermostat.

An app does not, by itself, make a heating system properly integrated. The boiler, controller and system layout need to be compatible if the installation is to use the intended modulation and control functions.

For Vaillant, this may involve compatible eBUS controls. For Viessmann, compatibility depends on the boiler model and generation. Existing controls should only be retained where they suit the new installation.

Where radiators and underfloor heating operate together, zone demand, circulation and hot-water priority need to be considered as one arrangement. Our smart heating controls guide explains the options in more detail.

The handover should leave you confident about changing temperatures and schedules, rather than relying on trial and error.

Understand the complete installed price

What affects boiler installation cost in Ealing?

The meaningful comparison is the complete installed scope, not just the boiler model. A replacement in the same position differs from a relocation or a conversion involving a cylinder, tanks or additional pipework.

Access, flue arrangements, the gas supply, controls and the condition of the existing system can all affect the work. Your quotation should make clear:

  • The boiler model and manufacturer cover included.
  • The flue, controls and required electrical connections.
  • Changes to gas, heating, hot-water or condensate pipework.
  • System cleaning, filtration and water treatment.
  • Removal of the agreed redundant equipment.
  • Commissioning, registration and applicable notification.
  • Making good, exclusions and how VAT is treated.

We separate essential work from optional improvements so that you can compare a defined installation, without unresolved items hidden behind a headline price.

Survey. Installation. Handover.

From your first enquiry to a working heating system

  1. Tell us what you have and what is changing

Send your full postcode, the existing boiler make and model, the number of bathrooms and any renovation plans. Photographs of the closed boiler, its surroundings, visible pipework and any cylinder are useful. There is no need to remove the appliance casing.

  2. Survey, specification and quotation

We assess the supplies, location, access and existing arrangement, then relate those findings to your plans. The quotation sets out the selected equipment, agreed work and relevant limitations.

  3. Installation to an agreed programme

Before work starts, we explain the expected heating and hot-water interruptions and the access required. Gas work is undertaken by appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineers, with other trades coordinated where needed.

  4. Commissioning, records and a clear handover

The finished installation is commissioned and checked for heating, hot-water and control operation. You receive the relevant instructions and records, with manufacturer registration and applicable Building Regulations notification addressed as separate requirements.

The Gas Safe consumer notification factsheet explains the notification process. Our handover is also about practical use: you should understand the system, not simply receive a stack of manuals.

Questions about boiler replacement in Ealing

Can you replace the boiler without replacing the whole heating system?

Yes, where the existing arrangement is sound and suitable. We assess what can remain and explain any repairs or changes needed to support the new appliance.

Does every installation receive 10 or 12 years’ cover?

No. The period depends on the qualifying boiler, installation package and manufacturer conditions. Your quotation identifies the exact cover included.

Is the extended warranty an extra charge?

Where PEP specifies an extended warranty package, it is included in the quoted installation price without a separate warranty surcharge. Required annual servicing is separate unless expressly included.

Is a full-system PowerFlush included?

Our replacement package includes a full-system PowerFlush subject to the condition of the circuit and suitability of the method. If repairs or another cleaning approach are needed, we discuss this before proceeding.

Can a combi boiler supply two showers?

That depends on incoming flow and pressure, required water temperatures and simultaneous demand. We assess those factors before recommending a combi or a stored-hot-water arrangement.

Can you move a boiler into a cupboard or utility room?

Often, but the flue, gas supply, drainage, connections and service clearances need checking first. Agree the position before cabinetry is ordered or finishes are completed.

How long will heating and hot water be off?

A straightforward replacement, relocation and system conversion involve different work. We explain the programme and expected interruptions after assessing the installation rather than promising every job will take one day.

Can the work be coordinated with a kitchen or bathroom renovation?

Yes. Tell us about the wider plans early so boiler, hot-water and plumbing requirements can be considered before floors, cabinets and finished surfaces restrict access.
