A kitchen extension, an extra shower upstairs or an ageing boiler that no longer earns its keep: there are different reasons to rethink your heating. The right installation starts by understanding yours.

PEP provides boiler installation and replacement in Queen’s Park, NW6, from straightforward appliance changes to heating and hot-water upgrades during refurbishment. We bring the boiler, pipework, controls and system preparation into one considered specification.

Vaillant

Up to10years

Vaillant — up to 10 years’ manufacturer guarantee

As Vaillant registered installers, we specify current-generation boilers with the controls and system protection appropriate to the installation. Qualifying ecoTEC plus packages can include a 10-year manufacturer guarantee when installed and registered through Vaillant Advance with the required Boiler Protection Kit.

Your proposal identifies the appliance and cover together, so the guarantee is part of the decision before installation. Vaillant’s guarantee information.

Up to12years

Viessmann — up to 12 years’ manufacturer warranty

We also install current Viessmann boilers, with up to 12 years’ manufacturer warranty available on selected qualifying Vitodens installations. The chosen model, registration route and warranty package determine the applicable term; not every appliance has the same options. Viessmann’s warranty information.

Extended cover included, without a separate warranty charge

On qualifying PEP packages, we include the agreed extended cover in the installation price. Manufacturer conditions apply, including registration and annual servicing. Routine servicing is charged separately unless expressly included, and the boiler’s cover does not automatically extend to every retained radiator, valve or pipe.

Designed around the household

Start with the household, not the old boiler’s label

A house near Queen’s Park may have changed considerably since its heating was installed. A rear extension adds living space; a loft conversion introduces another bathroom; a former family house becomes separate flats. The original boiler specification may no longer reflect how the building is used.

We look at the rooms you need to heat, the water your household uses and the parts of the installation worth retaining. A larger appliance is not automatically the answer. Sometimes the important improvement is better control, a different hot-water arrangement or correcting restrictions elsewhere in the system.

For a simple replacement, that assessment keeps the work proportionate. For a renovation, it helps resolve decisions before cupboards are built, floors are closed and new finishes make alterations more disruptive.

Heat and hot water, considered together

Which boiler arrangement belongs in your home?

A system boiler when stored hot water makes sense

A system boiler heats a separate cylinder. This can be a good arrangement when several people need hot water close together or when the household wants greater flexibility over peak demand.

Cylinder capacity, recovery, water supply and distribution must be considered together. Two bathrooms do not automatically require a system boiler, but two showers regularly running at once deserve a proper assessment.

Where a cylinder-based arrangement is appropriate, our vented-to-unvented hot-water guide explains the wider considerations.

A combi when space and demand make it a good fit

A combi provides heating and produces domestic hot water on demand, without a separate hot-water cylinder. It can be an effective space-saving choice for a flat or house with a suitable incoming supply and manageable simultaneous demand.

We check pressure and flow while water is being drawn, then consider the outlets you expect to use together. A stronger boiler cannot manufacture water flow that the incoming supply does not provide. The aim is a comfortable shower in everyday use, not an impressive output figure on a brochure. Vaillant explains the importance of the mains supply.

A regular boiler when the existing layout remains suitable

Keeping a serviceable conventional arrangement can sometimes be more sensible than removing tanks and a cylinder. We assess what can remain, what needs improvement and whether conversion offers a worthwhile benefit.

If you are considering removing stored hot water, see our conventional-to-combi conversion guide.

Replace. Relocate. Renovate.

Replacement, relocation or renovation: define the work early

01

Replacing a boiler in its current position can minimise disruption, provided that position remains suitable. The existing flue, supply connections and drainage still need checking; an old installation is not automatically a specification for its replacement.

02

Moving the boiler may release kitchen storage or make a new layout possible. We assess the complete route to the proposed location, including flue components, condensate drainage, pipework and access for future servicing.

03

Installing during a larger renovation gives us the opportunity to plan around the finished home. Tell us about proposed bathrooms, a loft conversion or new heating zones before equipment is ordered. Designing for those changes does not simply mean choosing the biggest boiler.

Our Queen’s Park plumbing installation service can coordinate the related bathroom, kitchen and water-supply work.

Get the details right before work starts

The survey details that prevent expensive compromises

Accessible pipework. Careful installation.Good work starts with the right specification.

Heat demand and retained radiators

We assess the building’s heating requirements alongside the emitters and pipework. Maximum hot-water output and space-heating demand are different considerations. The boiler’s ability to operate at lower output matters too, particularly when only part of the home needs heat. Viessmann on avoiding unnecessary oversizing.

Flue, condensate and gas supply

These routes need a workable design before installation begins. We check the proposed flue arrangement, terminal position, condensate drainage and gas-supply capacity against the chosen appliance and site conditions. Where specialist access or opening-up is needed, it belongs in the scope.

Joinery and maintenance access

A neat cupboard installation must remain serviceable. The appliance, filter, isolation points and components need appropriate access after the surrounding cabinetry is complete. Agreeing this early helps prevent a finished cupboard from becoming an obstacle to routine maintenance.

Flats and protected buildings

For leasehold properties, we establish relevant freeholder or managing-agent requirements. Around conservation areas, external alterations and flue positions may need additional consideration. Requirements depend on the address and proposed work, not simply on being in NW6. Brent’s conservation-area guidance.

Assess. Clean. Protect.

Prepare the heating system, not just the wall

Heating circuit preparationA new boiler is part of a bigger system.

A replacement boiler connects to a much larger network of radiators, valves and pipework. Their condition matters to the result.

PEP’s installation offer includes a full-system PowerFlush, with the existing installation assessed first to confirm suitability and the appropriate cleaning approach. Any limitations, deteriorated components or repairs needed before cleaning are discussed as part of the specification.

We also plan the appropriate magnetic filtration and water treatment. Cleaning is not a substitute for repairing leaks, replacing defective valves or correcting circulation problems caused by the layout.

Our London PowerFlush service explains how system cleaning fits into a properly prepared heating installation.

Heating demand, properly coordinated

Controls that do more than switch the boiler on

Wall-mounted heating thermostat beside a closed wiring centre and two motorised zone valves
Compatible controls & heating zonesThe thermostat, boiler and circuits: one arrangement.

The thermostat, boiler and heating circuits should be selected as a working combination. An app alone does not establish that compatibility.

With suitable equipment, controls can adjust heating demand rather than simply alternate between on and off. Vaillant’s compatible controls communicate through eBUS; Viessmann installations require a control arrangement appropriate to the selected model and system. Existing third-party controls are assessed rather than assumed to offer every feature. Vaillant’s system-control information.

Where a renovated ground floor has underfloor heating and the upper floors retain radiators, we consider water temperatures, circulation and zoning together. A hot-water cylinder introduces another demand that must be coordinated.

We explain the proposed arrangement in practical terms. For a deeper look, read our guide to smart heating controls.

Understand the complete installed price

What affects boiler installation costs in Queen’s Park?

The useful comparison is the price of a complete, properly specified installation — not the appliance price alone.

Your quotation accounts for:

  • The boiler model, output and agreed manufacturer-cover package.
  • Flue components, drainage and necessary supply alterations.
  • Controls, system cleaning, filtration and water treatment.
  • Any cylinder replacement, conversion or relocation work.
  • Access arrangements, removal and agreed making good.

We separate necessary work from optional improvements and make the VAT position clear. A straightforward replacement should not be presented as a complete refurbishment; equally, a relocation should not be priced as though the boiler were staying where it is.

If concealed conditions reveal additional work, we explain the finding and agree the change before proceeding with that additional scope. Our broader London boiler installation service follows the same approach.

Survey. Installation. Handover.

From your first enquiry to a system you understand

  1. Show us the starting point

Send your postcode, the boiler make and model if known, and photographs of the appliance and surrounding space. Keep the casing fitted. Tell us about your bathrooms, any cylinder and planned alterations.

  2. Agree the specification

Following assessment, we explain the recommended arrangement and written scope. The quotation identifies the boiler, controls, included work and guarantee or warranty. We also discuss the programme and expected interruption to heating and hot water.

  3. Install and commission

Our Gas Safe registered engineers carry out the gas installation work. We prepare the system, complete the agreed connections and commission the appliance, then check how the controls and connected circuits operate together.

  4. Handover and documentation

We demonstrate the controls and explain routine operation and servicing requirements. Commissioning records, manufacturer warranty registration and the applicable Building Regulations notification are dealt with as distinct parts of the handover. The relevant compliance certificate is separate from the manufacturer’s warranty. Gas Safe Register explains notification and certification.

PEP also undertakes wider heating installation work. Our London heating and plant-room projects show examples of that broader experience.

Please send the full postcode. If your flat receives communal heating or has a heat interface unit, let us know: that is a different starting point from replacing a private gas boiler.

Before booking the work

Boiler installation questions

Can a combi supply two showers?

Possibly, but it depends on measured supply conditions, the boiler’s hot-water capacity and the showers’ demand. We assess simultaneous use rather than promising performance from the number of bathrooms alone.

Will I need new radiators or a new cylinder?

Not automatically. Suitable existing components can remain. We check their condition, performance and compatibility, then distinguish required replacements from optional upgrades.

Can the boiler go inside a kitchen cupboard?

Often, provided the appliance and installation meet the manufacturer’s requirements and remain accessible for servicing. Cupboard dimensions alone do not establish suitability.

Should I mention a future loft bathroom?

Yes. Planned hot-water demand and heating zones can affect today’s specification. Early planning is particularly useful when new pipework would otherwise become concealed behind finished surfaces.

Is PowerFlush included?

Our boiler installation offer includes full-system PowerFlush, subject to assessment of the existing system. We confirm the appropriate cleaning method and identify any remedial work or limitations before proceeding.

Do you offer 10- and 12-year boiler cover?

Yes. Qualifying PEP packages include up to 10 years with Vaillant and up to 12 years with Viessmann, without an additional warranty charge. Your quotation confirms the exact term and the applicable manufacturer’s conditions.

How long will we be without heating and hot water?

That depends on the work. A replacement in the same position differs from a relocation or conversion. We agree the expected interruption beforehand and discuss sequencing for occupied homes.

Can you quote from photographs?

Photographs help establish the likely scope and next step. Where supply measurements, concealed routes or access need checking, we arrange the necessary assessment before finalising the proposal.
