Replacing your boiler should make your home more dependable, not leave you wondering whether the old pipework, radiators and controls will work with the new appliance.

PEP plans and installs replacement boilers in Willesden and Willesden Green, covering local NW10 and NW2 addresses. We assess what your home needs, identify what can stay and explain any necessary changes before the installation begins.

As Vaillant Advance and Viessmann Trained Installers, we offer carefully specified installations with up to 10 years of Vaillant manufacturer cover or up to 12 years with Viessmann on qualifying packages.

Start with the right decision

A new boiler should solve the right problem

Repeated breakdowns, unreliable hot water and an appliance that is no longer economical to repair can make replacement a sensible decision. A refurbishment or an additional bathroom may also change what you need from the system.

However, a cold radiator does not automatically mean the boiler has failed. Neither does falling system pressure prove that the appliance itself needs replacing. Circulation problems, faulty components and leaks elsewhere in the heating circuit need to be distinguished from a boiler fault.

We start with the outcome you want: dependable heating, a more suitable hot-water arrangement or a planned replacement before further disruption. Then we check whether a new boiler, a targeted repair or a wider change is the appropriate route.

If pressure loss is the main concern, our guide explains why a boiler keeps losing pressure and why diagnosis comes first.

Specified equipment. Stated protection.

Vaillant and Viessmann: the right specification, with clearly stated cover

We install current-generation Vaillant and Viessmann boilers, selecting the appliance and controls around the property rather than offering one model for every home.

Vaillant

Up to10years

Vaillant — up to 10 years

As Vaillant Advance Installers, we can provide up to 10 years of manufacturer guarantee on qualifying installations. Eligibility depends on the selected boiler, the required protection package and correct registration.

Up to12years

Viessmann — up to 12 years

As Viessmann Trained Installers, we can offer up to 12 years of manufacturer cover on qualifying Vitodens packages. The available term depends on the model and installation package; it is not the standard cover on every Viessmann boiler.

The extended cover specified in your PEP quotation is included in the agreed installation price, without a separate warranty surcharge. Your quotation will identify the boiler and the actual cover period.

Manufacturer terms, registration and servicing requirements apply. Annual servicing is separate unless expressly included. Boiler cover does not extend automatically to existing radiators, concealed pipework or other retained equipment.

See Vaillant’s qualifying protection-kit terms and Viessmann’s model-specific warranty information.

Assess what is already there

What can stay when your boiler changes?

Assess what is already thereKeep what works. Change what needs to.

A boiler replacement does not necessarily require a new heating system throughout the property. Sound, suitably sized radiators and serviceable pipework may remain.

We assess the retained installation for condition, circulation and compatibility. That includes radiator valves, visible pipework, existing controls and any hot-water cylinder. Where a conversion changes the operating pressure, the suitability of the older circuit needs particular attention.

Your proposal separates three things: the boiler installation itself, work necessary to make the retained system suitable, and optional improvements you may choose for comfort or future plans.

A replacement radiator in a cold room, new zoning or a cylinder upgrade should have a clear reason. You should not be asked to replace everything simply because some of the installation is older than the new boiler.

Plan around the building

Planned for Willesden houses and converted flats

In a house, the starting point may be an ageing boiler serving several floors, with extensions or additional radiators added over time. We look at the combined demand and the way heat reaches each part of the property.

In a converted flat, practical constraints can be just as important as appliance choice: a compact cupboard, a long flue route, access through shared areas or pipework passing beyond the flat’s own boundaries.

We clarify the installation scope, access arrangements and any freeholder or managing-agent permissions before the changeover. For occupied or tenanted homes, the programme also needs to account for the people relying on the heating and hot water.

If your flat receives communal heating through a heat interface unit, that is a different system from an individual gas boiler. Identify this at the enquiry stage so the work can be assessed correctly.

Heating load. Hot-water demand. Available space.

Combi, system or regular boiler?

The best choice depends on hot-water use, available space, the incoming water supply and what is already installed. Heating demand and hot-water demand are assessed separately; the highest output on the brochure is not automatically the best fit. Viessmann’s sizing guidance also explains why bigger is not always better.

System boilers & stored hot waterThe arrangement should suit the household.

A system boiler when stored hot water makes sense

A system boiler works with a separate cylinder. This can be a suitable arrangement where the household needs stored hot water and greater simultaneous demand must be considered.

The cylinder, recovery performance, controls and water supply all matter. If an existing vented arrangement is being reconsidered, read about vented-to-unvented hot-water conversion.

A combi for a compact, well-matched installation

A combi heats domestic hot water as it is needed, without a separate hot-water cylinder. It can suit a flat or smaller house where demand, mains flow and pressure support the arrangement.

Removing old tanks and a cylinder can release useful space, but it is a conversion rather than a simple appliance swap. Our conventional-to-combi conversion guide explains the wider changes.

A regular boiler where retaining the arrangement is appropriate

Replacing a regular boiler while retaining a suitable cylinder and associated equipment may avoid an unnecessary system conversion. We assess that option alongside alternatives, rather than treating a combi as the default answer.

Connections, routes and future access

Check the installation routes before choosing the boiler

Connections, routes and future accessWell-planned connections. Accessible installation.

Keeping the new boiler in the same position can simplify the project, but it does not remove the need to check the installation.

We review the flue route and terminal position, gas supply capacity, condensate drainage, electrical provision, service clearances and access for future maintenance. Existing connections are not assumed suitable simply because the previous boiler used them.

For relocation, these checks happen before the position is agreed. A tidy cupboard is not a workable boiler location if the flue or drainage route cannot be resolved.

An internal replacement does not normally require planning permission. Listed buildings, external alterations and some flue arrangements need additional checks. Requirements are assessed for the address and proposed work, including relevant conservation-area considerations. See the Planning Portal’s boiler and heating guidance.

Clean the circuit. Protect the new appliance.

A prepared heating circuit, not just a new appliance

Clean the circuit. Protect the new appliance.Understand what is circulating through the system.

The replacement boiler will depend on the water circulating through your existing system. Cleaning and protection therefore belong in the installation plan, not in an unexplained list of extras afterwards.

Our boiler replacement package includes a full-system PowerFlush where the circuit’s condition and construction make that method suitable. We assess the system first. If repairs or a different cleaning method are needed, the reason and any change to the scope are agreed before proceeding.

Appropriate filtration, water treatment and inhibitor are specified alongside the manufacturer’s requirements. We also check circulation and balancing so the completed installation is assessed at the radiators, not only at the boiler.

Cleaning cannot repair a leaking pipe or restore a mechanically failed valve. Those are separate faults, and we make that distinction clear. Learn more about powerflushing and heating-system cleaning.

Compatible controls. Useful settings.

Controls that work with the boiler you choose

Compatible controls. Useful settings.A heating system you can understand.

A thermostat’s appearance tells you little about how it communicates with the boiler. Compatible controls can do more than switch heating on and off: depending on the system, they can help adjust output to the heating demand.

We match controls to the exact appliance and generation, including manufacturer-supported options for Vaillant and Viessmann. Existing thermostats and third-party devices are checked for compatibility rather than automatically retained.

If the property combines radiators with underfloor heating, the zones, pumps and temperature requirements also need coordination. Our guide to smart heating controls explains these choices.

For a wider refurbishment, PEP can coordinate the boiler with plumbing installation in Willesden and a broader central heating or plant-room installation.

Know what the installation includes

Boiler installation costs in Willesden: compare the complete scope

A useful quotation prices the installation your property actually needs. Boiler model, location, flue access, retained-system condition and any conversion work can all change the total.

Your written proposal should make clear:

  • The boiler model, output, controls and specified manufacturer cover.
  • The filter or protection kit and agreed system-cleaning method.
  • Flue components, access equipment and any gas or condensate alterations.
  • Removal and disposal of the equipment being replaced.
  • Commissioning, registration and Building Regulations notification.
  • The total price, VAT treatment, exclusions and any separately priced options.

Where access prevents something being confirmed at survey, that uncertainty should be recorded. Necessary remedial work and optional upgrades should not be blurred into one vague allowance.

Send us the property details for a tailored quotation rather than relying on a headline price for an installation that may not match yours.

Survey. Installation. Handover.

From survey to a documented handover

01

Understand the system

First, we establish the existing arrangement and the result you want. We then agree the equipment, work scope, access and any permissions needed.

02

Agree the changeover

Before installation, we explain the programme and anticipated interruption to heating and hot water. A straightforward replacement differs from a relocation or conversion; we do not promise the same completion time for every property.

03

Install and commission

Gas work is undertaken by appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineers. The installation is commissioned, the controls configured and the heating and hot-water operation checked.

04

Explain and document

At handover, we explain everyday operation, servicing requirements and the specified cover. We complete the relevant commissioning record and manufacturer registration, and arrange the required Building Regulations notification. The resulting compliance certificate is separate from the manufacturer’s warranty and a landlord’s gas safety record. Gas Safe explains the notification process.

Before booking the work

Questions before replacing your boiler

Can you install a boiler in Willesden Green NW2?

Yes. This service includes Willesden Green as well as Willesden NW10. Provide your full postcode when requesting a quotation, particularly for neighbouring streets and boundary areas.

Can I keep my existing radiators?

Often, yes, if their condition, output and compatibility are suitable. We assess the retained system and identify any necessary repairs or changes before agreeing the installation scope.

Will a more powerful combi improve weak shower pressure?

Not automatically. A higher hot-water output does not fix an inadequate incoming water supply. We check the available flow and pressure alongside the household’s requirements before recommending a boiler.

Can you replace a boiler in a leasehold flat?

Yes, subject to a suitable installation design and any required permissions. External flue work, shared access and alterations affecting common parts need to be resolved with the relevant parties.

Is the 10- or 12-year cover included?

The qualifying cover specified in your PEP quotation is included without a separate warranty surcharge. The actual term depends on the boiler and package. Manufacturer conditions apply; ongoing annual servicing is separate unless stated otherwise.

Is a PowerFlush included with boiler replacement?

Yes, where the retained circuit is suitable for that method. If its condition requires repair or an alternative cleaning approach, we explain this and agree the revised scope before work proceeds.

How long will we be without heating and hot water?

We confirm the anticipated interruption after assessing the work. Relocation, conversion, difficult access or additional repairs can extend the programme. Tell us about vulnerable occupants or other practical constraints when enquiring.

What paperwork should I keep?

Keep the quotation, commissioning record, manufacturer registration and cover details, Building Regulations compliance certificate and subsequent service records. These documents have different purposes; one does not replace the others.

Your next boiler, properly planned

Tell us what your next boiler needs to do

Send your full postcode, property type, existing boiler make and model, number of bathrooms and any plans to extend or refurbish. Tell us whether you have a hot-water cylinder and what is prompting the replacement.

Photos of the boiler with its casing closed, the surrounding space and any safely visible pipework can help us prepare for the survey. Please do not remove covers.

We will help you establish what should change, what can stay and what your complete installation will include.
